AIR CONDITIONER CONTROLS

Set thermostat to 80* & on HOLD, humidistat to 65%

FLORIDA & SCREEN ROOMS

1) Store furniture & barbecue in garage; propane tank outside

2) TV, VCR & stereo unplugged; antenna disconnected

3) Paddle fan off

4 ) Windows locked and blocked; blinds closed

5) Sliding doors locked and blocked-blinds closed

6) Household insecticide sprayed on window seals, planters. Roach bait.

7) Lights & dimmer turned off

KITCHEN

1) Refrigerator empty, clean, power off, door open\or spices in, controls to low

2) Radio & telephone unplugged

3) Exhaust fan sealed

4) Empty trash container. Drawers & doors open

5) Dispose of all perishable foods from shelves, counters, etc.

6) Clean disposal with ice cubes; close drains

7) Dishwasher cleaned; door closed

8) Household insecticide sprayed on pipes&under appliances. Roach bait.

9) Windows locked and blocked; blinds closed

10) Lights off

MASTER BEDROOM

1) TV, clock radio & telephone, power and antenna unplugged

2) Wardrobe doors & drawers left open

3) Paddle fan off

4) Household insecticide sprayed. Roach bait

5) Windows locked and blocked; blinds closed

6) Light & dimmer turned off

BATHROOM EN SUITE

1) Clean shower, sinks, toilet; plug shower & sink drains, overflows

2) Washing soda, or bleach in toilet bowl. Cover bowl and tank w. Saran

3) Exhaust fan sealed

4) Empty trash container

5) Doors & drawers left open

6) Household insecticide sprayed. Roach bait

7) Lights & dimmer turned off

BEDROOM NEAR GARAGE

1) Wardrobe doors and drawers left open

2) Empty trash container

3) Paddle fan off

4) Window locked & blocked; blind closed

5) Household insecticide sprayed. Roach bait

6) Light off

BEDROOM NEAR LIVING ROOM

1) Wardrobe doors and drawers left open

2) Empty trash container

LAUNDRY ROOM

1) Empty trash container. Drawers & doors opened

2) Washer & dryer: check for clothes; clean drums

3) Dryer filter sealed with wax paper, or block outside vent; make self note

4) Sink cleaned & drain plugged

5) Unplug telephone answering machine. Both power & phone line

6) Household insecticide sprayed. Roach bait

7) Light off

BATHROOM

1) Toilet, sink & tub cleaned-drains and overflows plugged

2) Washing soda, or bleach in toilet bowl. Seal bowl & tank with Saran

3) Vanity doors open

4) Exhaust fan sealed

5) Household insecticide sprayed. Roach bait

6) Light off

LIVING/DINING ROOM

1) Window locked & blocked-blind closed

2) Household insecticide sprayed. Roach bait

3) Lights & dimmer turned off

4) Front door locked

GARAGE

1) Water heater turned off

2) Trash removed & arrangements made for disposal

3) Central vacuum bag replaced & clean washable filter

4) Window locked & blocked-blind closed

5) Garage door opener & TV amp. turned off

6) Tools & equipment that rust, moved to house, or spray with WD40

7) Garage door braces installed

8) Household insecticide sprayed. Roach & mouse bait

9) Breakers for microwave&other appliances turned off. AC left ON

10) Lights turned off

11) Garage side door locked

GENERAL ITEMS

1) Foggers discharged in house, garage and attic

2) Remove batteries from remote controls, clocks, radios & flashlights

3) Garden sprayed, fertilized & Roundup; arrange for seasonal care

4) Install storm shutters

5) Diazanon/Dursban (granular) spread around home perimeter & AC

6) Hoses & miscellaneous outdoor loose equipment stored

7) Night lights, deodorizers, etc. unplugged

8) Make a list of items to be taken to northern residence

9) Make list of services, etc. to terminate & address changes

10) Unplug garden lights

11) Turn off water supply & remove both valve handles

12) Discharge rechargeable batteries, e.g. razor, drill, toothbrush, etc.

13) Check auto tires for proper inflation and possible cuts, damage, etc.
